5 Daily Habits To Pursue Your Passion & Inspire Others

Ever felt like your career isn’t where you thought it would be by now? This is exactly how I felt not that long ago.

Stress, self-doubt, and anxiety are common side effects of a lack of satisfaction and fulfillment in the work we do in the world. But the cool thing about this unease we all experience at some stage means something inside us is ready for more.

Everything you need to take your next step on a new and exciting path is already inside you and is ready to take form. The fact you’ve arrived at this post is evidence of that and I’m so glad you’re here!

All you need is a little help bringing it to the surface.

Whether you want to run your own lifestyle business, up-skill and level-up in the career of your dreams or are just not quite sure what you want… yet. One thing is certain, you absolutely deserve to be paid for that thing that makes you want to leap out of bed each morning.

You may be asking yourself how can I inspire others simply by pursuing my own passion?… and isn’t that a little self-serving?. Or you may even be stuck just figuring out what it is exactyly that you’re passionate about.

The truth is that by telling your own discovery story may be EXACTLY what someone else needs to hear to help them find their own path.

But to be able to help others, first, you need to help yourself. And the way to do that is by doing whatever it takes to experience your own personal breakthroughs by taking action in your own life. A little about my own story here.

Try These 5 Daily Actions for 1 Month & See What Happens!

1. Affirm & Reaffirm

This means becoming crystal clear on your passion and purpose daily. Mornings are best, but honestly, take 10 minutes where you can get it. We all have busy lives so don’t make your busy morning the reason you don’t do this.

If you’ve ever read personal development books or attended seminars you already know that this step is crucial. Years ago I attended one of T. Harv Ekers seminars and I wrote down this simple equation because it makes so much sense!

Thought x Emotion + Action = RESULTS!

If your purpose is held and replayed clearly in your mind, this, in turn, stirs emotion; excitement, happiness, enthusiasm, sparks, fireworks, and more passion, which in turn, inspires you to…

2. Take Action

Yup that’s right ACTION… Even if its just a small one… as long as happens consistently.

Every little step in the right direction will bring you closer to living on ‘purpose’. But how will you know if it’s in the right direction? Step 1 acts like a beacon because ‘like attracts like’.

When your thoughts and emotions are aligned with your purpose daily, it doesn’t take long to start noticing and creating opportunities that move you closer to the experiences and achievments you’re aiming for.

Its funny how momentum kicks into gear here. As you begin to feel more clarity around what actions and decisions to make.

3. Education

When we stop learning we stop growing. But if we’re not clear on step 1 it can be difficult to know what to invest time and money on learning.

This is where things get interesting because this is all directed by YOU. Your purpose. Your journey. Your story to write your way.

Let me give you an example of how this played out in my own life recently:

Step 1 Affirm & Reaffirm = I identified that I wanted to connect more authentically with my readers through blog posts and newsletters in a way that better serves them in practical ways.

Step 2 Take Action = I took action by compiling a list of my favorite bloggers and taking notes about what I enjoy most about reading their posts and newsletters and why. I also sat down and wrote a list of ways that I can best serve my own readers on their own journeys to designing a life where they have enough time and income freedom to live their best life.

Step 3 Education = As part of my SFM Membership I have access to LinkedIn Learnings database of 6500+ online courses (more about that here). I logged in and found a whole series of short courses that were perfectly aligned with what I need to learn. I set plan to spend 30 minutes each day for the next month to work through a couple courses that really stood out to me.

Today we live in the age of information. We all have access to a constantly updated supply of education online through YouTube. In the past I found YouTube to be a great place to find free ‘How To’ videos on just about any topic I could think of!

4. Connect with Community

I stumbled for the first 12 months in my business because I didn’t utilise the resources that were available to me. I needed to overcome my own limiting belief that I have to do everything ‘on my own’. Finally, it hit home that serving others also means I need to allow myself to be served too.

You see, I’m the eldest of 3 children. Growing up I remember my Mum used to caution me about certain decisions, actions, and behaviors. My response was always: “Mum, how can you expect me to learn, if I don’t make my own mistakes?” And although that is true, I now recognize I probaly took the sentiment a little too far.

The point I’m making is that there’s no need to reinvent the wheel when someone else has already done the work… and done it well! Why not reach out to others who already have the skills, and experience to ask for advice and leverage their expertise?

Step 4 Connect with Community = I reached out to three coaches I have access to as part of my SFM membership. I scheduled in a coaching session with each of them (more about my mentors, and their vision here). They each helped me see something unique and valuable that I hadn’t seen or considered for myself.

Create a list of at least 3 people who you can reach out to for support, advice, and experience when it comes to your own goals. It could be someone you already know or even finding Forums or Facebook groups that are relevant to you. Reach out and connect with others to get the support you need.

5. Have fun!

FUN is the sticky stuff that binds it all together. If you’re not having fun then you’re back to step 1 to get clear on what you’re really passionate about.

A quick selfie here from a recent road trip. Met these legends through the SFM where we’re building our online businesses. Kathryn invited Emilia and I
to visit her in the Mornington Peninsula (Victoria, Australia). Awesome memories made and Such a fantastic community to be a part of!

I like to make sure I get a heavy dose of two types of fun in my life: I call it the heads and tails of the fun coin. When I’m getting plenty of both sides of the coin my life is rich with fulfilling experiences. But when I’m lacking in one or the other my life feels out of balance and this throws everything else out of balance too.

So what are these two sides of the fun coin I hear you say… I’m glad you asked!

Heads = Enthusiasm, fun, connections, conversations, events, excitement, and any other experience or emotion we enjoy as part of doing and pursuing what we are most passionate about.

Tails = Spending quality time with friends and family… Yes, this includes fur babies too! It includes traveling, yoga or any movement or meditation practice that takes us out of our head and into our bodies, preparing a meal for someone special, a random act of kindness… or just about anything that has nothing at all to do with pursuing our passion.

In other words, Tails is the simple things in life that bring us joy and a sense of gratitude. The trick is to mix it up and make sure you’re life is full of both!

All Success is Achieved by:

  • Becoming crystal clear on your passion & purpose
  • Cultivating a tenacious belief in yourself and your unique gift
  • Developing your personal brand
  • Learning how to market yourself effectively
